Our tourists from Japan have visited "The Pole of Coldness" Festival in the Sakha Republic. It is an annual celebration in Oymyakon — one of the coldest inhabited places on Earth. Temperatures here reach incredible critical levels, often crossing -70 degrees.
One of the participants of the tour was 78 years-old. She learnt about Oymyakon in primary school when she was a kid and always dreamt to visit it. In that trip the wish came true.
Our foreign guests took part in the festival, met Сhyshaan — Master of Coldness from local fairy-tales, went on reindeer sleigh ride and watched national sport competitions. Here is a photo essay from the journey:
