Riding a bike from a one ancient village to another, you will admire the beauty of the Northern nature and get acquainted with the culture of this region and history, that covers several centuries.
To join this tour you need to be in a good physical shape, because you will have daily routes of 40-50 km without car support

Itinerary
The journey begins at the Nyandoma railway station, Arkhangelsk Oblast, where you need to get to on your own by train. We are ready to help with the purchase of railway tickets, if necessary, leave a comment in the application.
Day 1 In Kargopol
You will be met at the Nyandoma railway station and taken to Kargopol. There you will be accommodated at the guest house and have lunch in a cafe. Further together with the guide you will walk to the historical part of the town. After that you will take a bike ride to Saunino village.There is the tent Church of St. John Chrysostom located here. It is the monument of Russian wooden architecture of XVII century. Then you can go cycling in the surrounding area.
In the evening you will participate in a master class and try to create a Kargopol traditional clay toy. After that you will stay overnight at the guest house.
The length of the cycle route is about 40 km.
Day 2 Cycling to the sacred places of Oshevensk
You will set off on bicycles along the route from Kargopol to Oshevensk. On the way you will stop in Pozdyshevo village, at the holy stone with a trace of St. Alexander Oshevensky. You will walk on foot to the spring with the worship crosses and visit Reka village.
Further you will enjoy a bike ride to Oshevensk with a sightseeing tour. You will see an old tent church with a bell tower in Pogost village and the St. George's chapel in Niz village, as well as carved merchant's houses in Shirayikha village.
Also you will visit the worship crosses in Maly (Little) Haluy and Bolshoy (Great) Haluy villages, as well as will see the "disappearing" river, the old wooden nordic huts and sacred grove.
Then you will return to Oshevensk, stay in the guest house and go to the bathhouse. In the evening you will have a local arts master class.
The length of the cycle route is 50 km.
Day 3 Along the river Onega by bikes
Today you will go on the return route from Oshevensk to Kargopol through the ancient Arkhangelo village. Here you will see the unusual cubiform churches. Then you will ride a bike along the banks of the Onega river. Perhaps, you will manage to visit the old believers' cave.
In the evening you will arrive to Kargopol, stay in the guest house and rest.
The length of the cycle route is about 70 km.
Day 4 Cycle route to Poonezhye
Today you will enjoy a bike ride through the ancient villages of Poonezhye (Onega river's valley). In Pechnikovo village you can visit the museum of the Kargopol clay toys, in Krasnaya Lyaga village you will see one of the oldest wooden churches of the whole Onega valley.
Then you will arrive to Lyadiny village, where you will accommodate at a guest house and visit a private ethnographic museum. In the evening you will take part in a workshop of making a peasant rag doll.
The length of the cycle route is about 55 km.
Day 5 Kenozero national park
Today you will take a bike ride to Kenozero national park. En route you will visit Orlovo, Lekshmozero and Maselga villages. Here you will see the visible part of the Great watershed between the White sea and Baltic sea. Accommodation in the guest house and the Russian sauna are waiting for you in the evening.
The length of the cycle route is about 45 km.
Day 6 The Porzhensky Pogost and Hizhgora Mount
On this day a cycle route from Maselga to Hizhgora Mount is waiting for you. Here you will see the Church of Alexander Svirsky, built at the top of the hill. Then you will go to Dumino village and visit the Porzhensky Pogost. It is a unique ensemble of wooden architecture, located on the lake's bank and surrounded by the holy grove.
If the road is bad, you will ride to the restored water mill. After that you will return to Maselga, have dinner and rest in the guest house.
The length of the cycle route is 16-35 km.
Day 7 End of journey
Today you will visit the ecomuseum, after that you will be taken to the Nyandoma railway station (to the train with departure at 3:50 pm).
Accommodation during the trip
During the tour you will stay at the private guest houses. In Kargopol you will spend 2 nights in the guest house with facilities (WC and shower). Tourists are accommodated for 4-6 people in the room (on a gender basis).
In Oshevensk you will stay for 1 night in a guest house with facilities (WC and shower). There are two rooms (5 beds, folding beds and rugs). In Lyadiny village, as well as Maselga village, you will live in the guest house (3-4 people in the room).
Common questions
The price includes homemade breakfasts and dinners in the guest houses, as well as daily snacks on the routes.
If you are a vegetarian or have special food preferences, please inform us in advance.
Trek bike with the disc brakes, matched to your height. If your height is less than 165 cm, please inform us in advance. If your height is more then 190 cm, it will be better to come with your own bike.
There will be no auto escort on the routes, so the participants carry their belongings on their own (on the trunk of a bicycle).
There is a discount for whose, who will participate with its own bike.
Also we give a 20% discount to children under 14 years old who join this trip with their parents.
There are different local folk arts workshops planned in the program. Three of them are included in the price of the tour. For an extra fee you can participate in other masterclasses. All souvenirs that you will create, you can take with you.
The guest houses, where you will stay, are located near the rivers. So, you can go fishing. There is also the Russian sauna.
